Ceres Police arrest suspect following home invasion on Hackett Road

One person is in custody following a home invasion on Hackett Road. The Ceres Police Department says its officers responded to a 911 call from the 1400 block of Hackett Road for a report of a home invasion on March 28, 2024.

A male subject forced his way into the residence and stole a vehicle. Officers learned that at least three subjects were involved. The stolen vehicle was found the next morning by the California Highway Patrol.

CPD’s Investigations Unit has been investigating the incident and identified one of the suspects involved. On July 11, 2024, 36-year-old Jorge Gomes-Moraila was taken into custody with help from Fresno Police Department’s Metro Investigations Unit.

Gomes-Moraila was booked into the Public Safety Center on various charges, including Child Endangerment, Carjacking, Kidnapping, and Robbery.
