The Cape Girardeau Police Department has announced charges against a shooting suspect who allegedly shot someone during a domestic dispute. Officers responded to the 1900 block of Rock Creek Lane in response to a shooting around 2:45 p.m. on December 18, 2023. At the scene, officers learned that a domestic dispute had occurred involving two individuals.
At one point, the suspect reportedly produced a firearm and shot the victim who suffered what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was treated by EMS before being transported to a local hospital for treatment. On December 19, 2023, 43-year-old Anthony Conner of St. Louis was charged by the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutor’s Office for his alleged involvement in the shooting.
A warrant was issued for Domestic Assault, Felony Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child x2. The Cape Girardeau Police Department said Conner is still at large. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact CGPD or local authorities.
