The Campbell Police Department has arrested a 25-year-old for allegedly punching an elderly man on Friday. CPD says that 25-year-old Nicholas Hosteter was arrested in connection to an incident that occurred on Friday.

Around 11:23 a.m. on May 24, officers responded to a similar report of battery near Inwood Drive and Elam Avenue. Officers discovered that a 75-year-old man was randomly punched in the face hours earlier.

The victim and his family returned to the area to look for surveillance cameras. They were confronted by the suspect who attempted to fight with the family before leaving the area. Officers searched for the suspect.

On May 25, 2024, CPD contacted Hosteter’s parents. With their help, Hosteter surrendered to police. He was booked on two counts of elder abuse and battery on an officer. The second charge is based on the suspect allegedly kicking an officer while being booked.
