Calgary Police have shot a suspect following an attempted robbery at the Ace Liquor at 5032 16th Avenue Northwest. Calgary Police reports that it received a call about an attempted robbery at the Ace Liquor around 2:30 p.m. on August 18, 2024.

Officers reached the scene and located a male suspect in Montgomery Town Square. Authorities say the suspect was holding a weapon and refused to comply with officer demands to drop it.

One CPS officer fired their service weapon hitting the suspect. The suspect was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.
