The Caldwell Police Department is investigating a shooting Wednesday night. Around 7 p.m. on March 20, 2024, CPD received multiple 911 calls regarding a shooting in the 1700 block of Cleveland Boulevard. At the scene, responding officers found expended bullet casings. It does not appear that anyone was struck by gunfire. Any possible victim fled the scene before police arrived.

CPD said in a social media post that the suspect is described as a short Hispanic male. At the time, he was wearing a gray shit and had a short beard. The suspect was last seen driving a gray Chrysler with large wheels. It is believed the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.

Based on the preliminary information, CPD believes the shooting was gang and narcotics related.
