The Bullhead City Police Department has announced the arrests of the parents of three children for child abuse, child neglect, and possession of narcotic drugs. BCPD reports that officers were called to a business parking lot in the 2300 block of Miracle Mile for a report of a suspicious parked vehicle around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday.

BCPD says officers found the adults in the vehicle unresponsive due to being under the influence of drugs. Officers also saw drug paraphernalia in plain sight. Three children were sleeping in the back seat with easy access to the drugs.

The children are aged 3, 6, and 6. BCPD says officers have to yell and bang on the vehicle windows to wake up the parents. 49-year-old Shawn Lee Martin and 32-year-old Melisa Renee Richman were arrested. Their children were placed into the care of the Department of Child Safety.
