Update – The Broomfield Police Department has confirmed that the suspect involved in this incident has passed away. The Critical Incident Response Team of the 17^th Judicial District is investigating the officer-involved shooting. The involved officer has been placed on administrative leave.

Original Story – The Broomfield Police Department said in a social media post that one of its officers was involved in an officer-involved shooting in the 600 block of Alter Street. The officer was not injured in the incident. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

According to BPD, officers responded to a domestic-related incident at the Village Square Apartments in the 700 block of Burbank Street around 8:42 p.m. Details are limited at this time.
