The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating after a man was found with a gunshot wound to the head. According to BPD, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and citizen reports of a victim shot in the 1200 block of Park Avenue around 6:55 p.m. on April 10, 2024. At the scene, patrol officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The Detective Bureau responded to assume control of the investigation. BPD has secured a large crime scene on Park Avenue between Laurel Avenue and Wood Avenue.
Authorities have also found multiple items of evidence at the scene. No other details are available at this time.
