The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office has detained a man for shooting his father in the arm. Around 4:19 p.m. on January 1, 2024, deputies were dispatched to Country Manor in Eagle Lake after receiving a report of a male shot. The 911 caller was the victim’s son and explained he had shot his father in the arm.

Deputies and a State Trooper arrived at the scene and provided first aid to a 59-year-old male victim. The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later airlifted for additional treatment.

The victim’s son was detained pending further investigation.
