The Birmingham Police Department is investigating another homicide on Friday evening. Officer Truman Fitzgerald reports that officers with the Birmingham Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the 400 block of 9th Street West around 3:30 p.m.
Officers received an update that a vehicle had been involved in an accident nearby. Once BPD officers reached the scene, they located a wrecked black SUV in a grassy area. Officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound inside the vehicle.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. No one is in custody at this time. BPD believes someone in the area may know something since the incident happened in a heavily populated area.
