The Birmingham Police Department is currently investigating a homicide in the 2100 block of Magnolia Avenue South at Brother Bryan Park. BPD says its officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired around 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

When officers reached the scene, they located an adult male victim in the park unresponsive and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that witnesses heard gunfire and saw people running from the park. The witnesses called 911. At this time, no one is in custody. No other details are available at this time.
