The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a double homicide. On Thursday, February 15, 2024, detectives and patrol officers with BPD began investigating the disappearance of a young couple, 20-year-old adult female and 20-year-old adult male.

The couple had not been seen or heard from since Valentine’s Day when they left in a white Ford Taurus to go to the movies. On Friday, the investigation led detectives to the 4100 block of 10th Avenue Wylam where they found the white Ford Taurus.

Upon further investigation, authorities found a young woman and a young man inside the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Both parties were pronounced deceased. The Jefferson County Coroner responded to the scene and is working to identify both parties.
