A 25-year-old male is in custody following investigations into the fatal shooting of Stephen Keith Jr. and a separate nonfatal shooting. Anthony Dubose Jr., 25, of Birmingham, Alabama was apprehended at 1701 Edwards Lake Park, Tom Bradford Park.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department were dispatched to the 9300 block of Parkway East on December 30, 2023, to investigate a shooting. Stephen Keith Jr. was found deceased in his vehicle.

On the same day, officers responded to a second shooting in the 1300 block of High Point Terrace. Officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound(s) inside his vehicle. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Anthony Dubose Jr. was remanded to the Jefferson County Jail on multiple charges – attempted murder, capital murder, and discharging into an occupied vehicle charges. Dubose Jr. is being held on a no-bond status.
