The Birmingham Police Department is on the scene of a homicide in the 4200 block of Jackson Street. According to BPD, East Precinct officers responded to a report of a person shot at the aforementioned location just before 8:30 p.m. tonight.
At the scene, officers found a juvenile male lying unresponsive inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire & Rescue responded to the scene where they pronounced the victim deceased. BPD says the preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was at a neighborhood convenience store when he was approached by an unknown suspect.
As the victim attempted to leave the location, the suspect fired shots into the vehicle striking the victim. No one is in custody.
