The Birmingham Police Department has made an arrest in the murder of Lafontae Dejarris Lenard and the wounding of two others. BPD reports that arrest warrants have been secured in the incident that occurred in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue Southwest on September 2, 2024.

The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Tyler Reed Sanders of Birmingham. Authorities reveal that Sanders was wounded during the gunfire as well. The case information was presented to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office on September 5, 2024.

Reed Sanders has been booked on charges of Murder and two counts of Attempted murder.
