Birch Tree man arrested for Sodomy of 19-year-old following incident at Rymers Campground

Birch Tree, Missouri – A Birch Tree, Missouri man was arrested on July 3 and charged with Sodomy. Sheriff Steven Hogan said in a statement, “This charge stems from a criminal act that is both vile and unacceptable in any civil society.”

According to a warrant affidavit, two 19-year-old victims were at Rymers Campground with Joel Mitchell. When Mitchell urinated in front of the girls, one yelled telling him that wasn’t okay and “you need to have more respect that we’re 19 year old girls.”

The affidavit alleges that Joel cursed at them, pushed the victim, and tried to hit her multiple times. When the first victim left, things allegedly became sexual between the other victim and Mitchell.

 

Victim 2 alleged that Mitchell grabbed her hand and placed it on his genitals. She immediately removed her hand. The affidavit says Mitchell told victim two that he liked victim one, but she doesn’t do the things he wants.

Mitchell allegedly told victim two not to say anything to the other girl.
