The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in an aggravated assault at a local Motel 6. The incident happened at the Motel 6 at 105 Riverside Parkway just after 3 p.m. on Friday. Around 3:05 p.m., the E911 Center received a call about the incident. BCSO deputies responded to the scene and secured a person of interest.
Then, deputies found a 25-year-old man and a 40-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment. Both are in stable condition. Investigators say they arrested 32-year-old Cody Aaron Stephenson.
Authorities believe there was an argument between the men that led to Stephenson retrieving a gun and firing shots at both men through the door and window of the room. Stephenson is facing charges of reckless conduct and two counts of aggravated assault.
