The Bethel Police Department is currently investigating a possible disturbance on Atsaq. BPD reports that its officers responded to a residence on Atsaq in reference to a possible disturbance on July 30, 2024.

At the scene, officers made contact with a male and female outside the residence. A male was also found lying in the artic entry with facial injuries. The injured male was transported to an area hospital before being flown to Anchorage with serious injuries.

Ernest Timothy Phillips was arrested for Assault I.
