Berkeley Police arrest 62-year-old man in Harrison Street homicide

The Berkeley Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a homicide on Harrison Street. BPD reports that its officers responded to Ursula Sherman Village at 711 Harrison Street around 5:26 p.m. on August 26 for a person shot.

At the scene, officers found a 37-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Officers say they identified the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Around 10:30 a.m. on August 26, officers found the suspect parked in the area of Fourth Street and Camelia Street. The suspect was arrested without incident. BPD says officers found multiple guns and ammunition.

62-year-old Mark Christopher Dowling was arrested and charged with Murder.
