A 27-year-old man in Benton County, Washington has been arrested on four counts of Possession of Depictions of Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the First Degree. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office reports that Mathew K. Bottoms was arrested on June 6, 2024.
The investigation was initiated following a cyber tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children alleging Bottoms may have downloaded child pornography images from the internet.
BCSO detectives say the investigation led to the identification of Bottoms who allegedly viewed and downloaded the images onto a personal electronic device. Detectives obtained a search warrant for Bottom’s residence on East Pidcock Road in Kennewick.
During the execution of the search warrant, Bottoms was taken into custody and evidence was seized, according to BCSO. Bottoms has been booked into the Benton County Jail on four counts of Possession of Depictions of Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in the First Degree.
