The Benton County Sheriff’s Office announced on social media that its detectives are searching for potential victims of a sex crimes suspect. BCSO reports that detectives have been investigating several sex crimes cases involving 45-year-old Paul Raymond Gellatly of Philomath.
The investigation began in February 2024 when BCSO received a tip that Gellatly may have committed sexual abuse on an unrelated minor child as recently as the end of 2023. Detectives developed probable cause for his arrest.
On February 23, 2024, Gellatly was taken into custody at his residence in Philomath on a charge of Sex Abuse in the Second Degree. He was booked into the Benton County Jail and released the following day.
BCSO says other potential victims and witnesses were identified during follow-up investigations. There may be other victims that have not reported to law enforcement. Anyone with information is asked to contact the BCSO Tip Line at 541-753-TIPS.
