The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in solving the senseless murder of 52-year-old Malcolm Donaldson. BCSO says in a media release that Donaldson was killed two years ago in a tragic case of mistaken identity. On March 23, 2022, Malcolm left home to pay tribute to his departed friend at a celebration of life nearby.

As Malcolm was turning onto Lexxus Lane from Milledge Valley Road in the Burton community, gunfire rang out. BCSO says the investigation indicated that multiple shooters were involved and Malcolm was not the intended target. He was driving a similar car model to the actual target.
