Beacon Police Department arrests man accused of stabbing and hitting his brother

The Beacon Police Department has arrested a man accused of violently assaulting his brother with a gun and knife. According to BPD, a person walked into the police department with injuries to the head on April 18, 2024. The man explained that he had been assaulted by his brother.

It is alleged that the suspect struck the victim in the head with a handgun and stabbed him. BPD officers responded to a residence on Hudson Avenue to look for the suspect and the crime scene. Officers confirmed that the suspect fled the scene before they arrived.

A crime scene was located and processed by the Detective Division. On April 19, 2024, detectives determined that the suspect was at a residence outside of the city. They apprehended the suspect at that location without incident. Brian M. Duff is charged with Assault 2nd and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th.
