The Baton Rouge Police Department has announced an arrest in a shooting on Tams Drive. On March 17, 2024, BRPD announced its Homicide Detectives were investigating the shooting death of 20-year-old Jarvion Johnson. The victim was found inside a vehicle in the 12000 block of Tams Drive around 1:10 p.m. deceased from gunshot wounds.
On March 21, 2024, BRPD Homicide Detectives arrested 19-year-old Tahj Javier Carter for his alleged involvement in the shooting. Carter was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of 2nd Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon.
The motive for the shooting is not known at this time.
