Baton Rouge, Louisiana – The Baton Rouge Police Department has announced an arrest of a suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of 56-year-old Linda Mayes.

According to a BRPD release, 31-year-old Donald Ray Walker was arrested for the shooting death of Mayes who was found deceased inside a room at 9919 Gwenadele Avenue on January 12, 2025.

BRPD says Walker was arrested at the Lake Towers Apartment Complex at 999 North 9th Street on January 24, 2024. Walker was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 2nd Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
