Baltimore Police investigating homicide and non-fatal shooting on Sunday

The Baltimore Police Department announced it is investigating a homicide and a shooting on Sunday. Around 3:15 p.m. on June 16, BPD officers responded to the 1800 block of Spence Street for a call for a sick case.

At the scene, officers found medics performing life-saving measures on an unidentified individual. The individual passed away. BPD says there were signs of trauma to the victim. An unidentified male was taken into custody in relation to this incident.

Homicide detectives responded to take over the investigation. Around 7:43 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 5200 block of Saybrook Road. At the scene, officers found an 18-year-old male victim suffering from numerous gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Northeast District Shooting detectives have taken over the investigation.
