Baltimore Police Department investigating after female victim enters hospital with gunshot wound

The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened earlier today. Around 1:33 p.m. on March 9, 2024, Southern District officers responded to a local hospital for a walk-in shooting victim. At the hospital, responding officers found a 34-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the right thigh.

The victim is currently listed in stable condition. According to the preliminary investigation, BPD believes that the victim was in the 300 block of South Monroe Street when she heard a gunshot coming from an unknown direction around 9:30 p.m. on March 5, 2024.

A short time later, the victim realized she had been shot. The victim didn’t seek treatment until March 9. No additional details are available at this time.
