The Baltimore County Police Department said in a news release that its Homicide Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday afternoon on Hawthorne Avenue.

According to BCPD, Pikesville Precinct officers responded to a scene of a shooting around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday. Officers reportedly found 20-year-old Caron Means suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Detectives believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the public.
