Simmesport, Louisiana – The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was found near railroad tracks in Simmesport, Louisiana.
According to APSO, the 911 Communications Center received a report of a body found in Avoyelles Parish by the railroad tracks in Simmesport, Louisiana.
APSO says the Simmesport Police Chief requested the assistance of APSO. APSO’s detectives responded to the scene and will be leading the investigation.
Authorities say the body was identified as 31-year-old Alton Lee Johns Jr. of Simmesport. No other details are being provided at this time.
