Two people were injured in what authorities are calling an “assault with a firearm” in Gilmanton Township on Sunday. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office reports that its deputies responded to a residence in the 9900 block of 95th Avenue Northeast around 4:45 p.m. on October 13.
A resident reportedly informed BCSO that two people had been shot and the suspect was still in the area. Deputies located two adult male victims at the scene. Authorities say one man suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. The other victim suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
BCSO says an adult male suspect was taken into custody without incident. The victims were transported to St. Cloud Hospital where they remain in critical condition. The suspect was transported to the Benton County Jail.
