The Austin Police Department is investigating the homicide of Francisco Muntufa Miranda. Around 7:48 p.m. on January 8, 2024, APD officers responded to a shooting at the Avalon Palms apartment complex at 9300 Northgate Boulevard. At the scene, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was later identified as Francisco Muntufa Miranda. APD said the preliminary investigation indicates that one or more suspects involved in the case may frequent the apartment complex.
