The Austin Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to the fatal shooting of Ahsun Madison on September 30, 2024. APD reports that its officers responded to 9120 Northgate Boulevard around 8:20 p.m. on Monday for a report of a shooting.

At the scene, officers found a black male on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, Ahsun Madison, was pronounced deceased at the scene. APD says officers identified the suspect as a 16-year-old Hispanic male.

It is alleged that the suspect had been involved in multiple shootings in the area earlier this year and was out on bond for prior shootings. Authorities allege that the suspect fatally shot Ahsun Madison at the apartment complex before fleeing the scene.

Austin Police Gang Detectives apprehended the 16-year-old Hispanic male and arrested him for Murder. He was booked on a charge of 1st Degree Murder. APD says this is Austin’s 48th homicide of 2024.
