Aurora, Illinois – The Aurora Police Department says a man is dead following a shooting on April 12.
In a news release, APD said that its officers responded to a report of a person with a weapon in the 400 block of Weston Avenue around 3:34 a.m. on April 12.
At the scene, officers found a 35-year-old male victim suffering from two gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center where he passed away at 7:47 a.m.
APD says detectives from the Investigations Bureau and Evidence Technicians responded to the scene to investigate. The Kane County Coroner’s Office took custody of the deceased.
The autopsy was scheduled for April 14. APD says the preliminary information indicates that the incident stemmed from a dispute between the victim and an acquaintance.
