The Aurora Police Department announced in a social media post that officers and detectives are investigating a homicide in the 12600 block of East Pacific Circle. Around 9:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to the aforementioned location for a welfare check at an apartment.

Once officers reached the scene, they found the door open and the lights on inside. APD said officers performed a safety check of the apartment and located a man with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

CSI and the Major Crime Homicide Unit responded to the scene. No other details are available at this time.
