The Aurora Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened earlier today. Around 6:15 p.m., APD officers responded to the 19100 block of East Arkansas Drive for reports of a shooting. At the scene, responding officers contacted the suspect and the victim. The 43-year-old male victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

A 35-year-old man was taken into custody. At this time, charges are pending. APD believes there was a verbal argument that led up to the shooting. It is not believed that anyone else is outstanding.
