The Atlanta Police Department has released bodycam video of the arrest of 38-year-old Christina Peterson. APD reports that an Atlanta Police officer was working an approved extra job at 3179 Peachtree Road Northeast around 3:18 a.m. on June 20, 2024.

The officer overheard a commotion and went to investigate. The officer noticed security escorting a woman out of the venue. The officer assisted security and attempted to de-escalate the situation. At this point, it is alleged that Peterson rushed toward the commotion and began screaming at the security guard and the officer.

She allegedly forcibly pushed the officer in the chest and kept swiping his hands away while the officer was trying to help the female being escorted out. Peterson allegedly pushed the officer in the chest again before being taken into custody.

APD says the woman refused to cooperate when the officer asked for her identifying information. Peterson was charged with Simple Battery Against a Police Officer and Obstruction of Law Enforcement.
