Hughes, Arkansas – The Arkansas State Police announced that Special Agents with its Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the Christmas Eve officer-involved shooting that claimed the life of a 26-year-old Cross County woman.
Around 7 p.m. on December 24, 2024, Saint Francis County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Hughes Police Department officers responded to reports of a woman with a gun causing a disturbance outside the Hughes Church of God at 802 Main Street.
Police say a responding HPD officer identified the woman as Allie Kundert who was near the corner of Main and Benton Streets. According to an ASP statement, the officer discharged his weapon fatally striking Kundert.
No other details are being provided at this time. ASP has not provided any information about what led up to the shooting.
