A wanted man has been arrested in connection to a double homicide in Wilmar in early December 2023. The Arkansas State Police reports that a trooper stopped a black Dodge Charger at the intersection of Arkansas Highway 65 and Highway 82 in Lake Village for a traffic violation around 7:25 p.m. on July 30, 2024.

ASP says a passenger was identified as 25-year-old Taiwan Collins Jr. who was wanted by the Monticello Police Department in connection to a double homicide. Collins was arrested and booked into the Drew County Detention Center on two counts of Capital Murder.

On December 3, 2023, the Drew County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. Deputies responded to the old Wilmar School on North 5th Street where they found two deceased men.

25-year-old Suquorey Pitts Jr. was found deceased in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in the school’s driveway. 21-year-old Independence Young was found lying on North 5th Street.
