Benton, Arkansas – The Arkansas State Police and US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force has arrested a suspect accused of assaulting a trooper and fleeing from arrest.
According to an ASP statement, 29-year-old Luis Danielle Valdez-Reyes was arrested on January 6, 2025. The arrest reportedly stems from an incident that occurred around 7:15 p.m. on December 31, 2024.
An ASP Trooper stopped a Ford F250 pickup truck traveling east on Interstate 30 for a traffic violation, according to ASP. Authorities say Valdez-Reyes, who was a passenger in the vehicle, had an outstanding felony warrant for mail theft.
Valdez-Reyes is accused of striking the trooper before fleeing on foot. He was booked into the Saline County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
Valdez-Reyes is facing numerous charges, including Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing, and Obstructing Governmental Operations.
