The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office deputy was struck by a drunk driver. According to ACSO, a drunk driver crashed into a deputy who was on his way to work at the Arapahoe County Detention Facility around 4:15 a.m. on March 23, 2024. The incident happened at East Smoky Hill Road and South Liverpool Street in Centennial.
The deputy managed to crawl out of his truck despite being injured. ACSO says the investigation indicates that a tan Honda Odyssey was traveling eastbound when it struck the deputy’s truck causing it to roll over on its top.
A 27-year-old male suspect was taken into custody. He is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving causing injury, driving without a valid driver’s license, and no proof of insurance. The deputy is doing okay.
