The Appleton Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in a homicide on December 24. According to a social media release from the Appleton Police Department, Elliot L. Campbell of Racine was arrested on the afternoon of January 13, 2024 in Racine, Wisconsin.

Campbell is charged with one count of First-Degree Intentional Homicide. Around 2:07 a.m. on December 24, 2023, Apple Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of South Walnut Street for a report of gunshots. At the scene, officers located 22-year-old Elijah D. Dodson with at least one gunshot wound.

Dodson was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
