The Maryland State Police has announced a charge of attempted murder in connection to a Talbot County gas station shooting. The shooting occurred on Tuesday morning and left a man hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
MSP has identified the suspect as 36-year-old Antonio Lamont Bolden who is charged with First-Degree Attempted Murder, First-Degree Assault, and various misdemeanors. Bolden is being held at the Talbot County Detention Center.
Around 9:10 a.m. on September 17, 2024, officers responded to a shooting in the 4100 block of Ocean Gateway in Trappe. At the scene, troopers found 29-year-old Aigner Smith suffering from gunshot wounds to the arm and face.
The victim remains hospitalized. MSP says the preliminary investigation suggests that Bolden and Smith are coworkers. They reportedly arrived at the gas station in a van before the shooting.
Following the shooting, Bolden allegedly fled in the van. Around 9:30 a.m., Cambridge Police Department officers and Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the van and reportedly saw Bolden trying to carjack another vehicle.
Bolden was arrested. A motive for the shooting has not been determined at this time.
