The Antioch Police Department is investigating a double shooting that occurred late Wednesday. APD reports that its officers responded to the 1600 block of Vineyard Drive around 11:26 p.m. on July 3 for a person shot near the vineyards.

At the scene, officers found a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. An adult female victim arrived at Sutter Delta Medical Hospital with at least one gunshot wound.

The female victim was transported to John Muir Medical Center Walnut Creek in critical condition. Authorities believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. No other details are available.
