The Antioch Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a double murder on Fairmont Lane. APD reports that its officers responded to the 2600 block of Fairmont Lane for a welfare check around 4:10 p.m. on October 16, 2024.

Authorities say two bodies were found at the scene. The bodies of a man and woman were in advanced stages of decomposition. APD says its officers contacted a male suspect who was attempting to leave the residence.

The suspect was later determined to be the son of the female victim and the half-brother of the male victim, according to authorities. Investigators say that the male suspect murdered his mother and half-brother.

The suspect was booked into the Contra Costa County Detention Facility on two counts of murder. No other details are available at this time.
