The DC Metropolitan Police has announced the arrest of a man in connection to a shooting in Northeast DC. According to police, Sixth District officers responded to a reported shooting in the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue NE around 6:12 PM on November 29, 2023.

Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. On December 6, 2023, authorities arrested 51-year-old Anthony Adegbola Goncalves of Northeast DC.

Goncalves is charged with Assault with Intent to Kill, Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Felon in Possession. DC police said a handgun was recovered at the time of the arrest.
