A 34-year-old Severn, Maryland man is dead following a fatal shooting on Friday night. The Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating the incident. AACPD reports that its officers responded to the 1600 block of Meade Village Circle in Severn for a report of a shooting around 7:19 p.m. on June 14, 2024.
At the scene, officers found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds behind a building. The victim, 34-year-old Keion McKinney, was pronounced deceased at the scene. CID Homicide Detectives responded to assume control of the investigation.
AACPD says the preliminary information suggests that the victim exited a townhome before being shot by a male suspect in the rear yard. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene. It is believed this was a targeted incident.
