The Annapolis Police Department is investigating a stabbing near the 400 block of 6th Street. Officers responded to the scene for a report of a stabbing around 11:38 PM on December 5, 2023. Upon arrival, officers met the victim who sustained stab wounds to his abdomen.

The victim said he left a store and walked along Chesapeake Avenue. Authorities say the victim said he was approached by a short Hispanic male who immediately began assaulting him with an edged weapon. The victim fled to the store for assistance.

The store clerk met the victim before police arrived. The clerk informed police he remembered waiting on a subject who matched the suspect’s description before ringing up the victim. The victim was taken to a Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. He is considered in serious yet stable condition.

Authorities describe the suspect as a short Hispanic male around 20 years old. He was wearing a black winter coat at the time of the attack.
