The Anchorage Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting on McCain Loop. APD says its officers responded to reports of an unconscious black male at the aforementioned location around 1:40 p.m. on October 20, 2024.

APD says its officers found an unresponsive 34-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Medics responded and declared the victim deceased at the scene.

Authorities say no arrests have been made at this time.
