The Anchorage Police Department is investigating a death that occurred early Saturday. APD officers and Fire Department Medics responded to East 42nd Avenue and Florina Street for an unresponsive male around 12:41 p.m. on August 10, 2024.

Life-saving measures were immediately taken, but the male was pronounced deceased. APD says officers made observations that prompted a closer look into the circumstances leading up to the death.

APD warns locals that there will be a police presence in the area as the investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact APD at 907-786-8900.
