A woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Anchorage on Monday evening. The Anchorage Police Department has arrested a suspect in the case. APD reports that its officers responded to a hit-and-run collision around 6:15 p.m. on May 20.
APD believes an adult female was crossing A Street between Fireweed Lane and East 16th Avenue. She was struck and killed by a Dodger Charge traveling northbound on A Street. The victim was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
The driver of the Dodge left the scene without informing law enforcement. APD says the driver, 40-year-old Larry W. Anderson Jr., was contacted at a nearby location a short time later.
Anderson was booked into the Anchorage Correctional Complex on charges of Failure to Render Aid, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Driving with a Revoked License.
